Citi’s Banking franchise is organized around three lines of business: Investment Banking, Corporate Banking and Commercial Banking. The unified Banking and International organization oversees the local delivery of the full firm to clients in each of the 95 markets where Citi has an on-the-ground presence.

Citi has a rare opportunity to join our New Zealand Banking team as a Relationship Associate based in Auckland. This role supports a small high-performing team of Relationship Managers who work closely with colleagues across our businesses to support our clients with tailored and often cross-border solutions including bank and bond market financings, global transactional banking, foreign exchange and interest rate risk management, securities and fund management products and services.

Key responsibilities include day-to-day client and business-unit management, including interfacing client onboarding and KYC/AML compliance process, helping with transaction execution and liaising with credit and legal teams to ensure seamless client delivery, preparing capital management proposals, and acting as a point of escalation for issue remediation.

The role will suit a disciplined individual with an eye for detail, proactive and deadline focused who can manage varied concurrent workstreams with a passion for client service.

The successful candidate will have at least five years of previous banking experience with an understanding of client needs across a range of banking products and services. They will develop a strong understanding of Citi’s global organizational structure, exposure to multi-national banking operations, and delivery of exceptional client relationship support.Citi also offers competitive compensation, benefits and flexible working arrangements.


Key Responsibilities:

·Serve as the support banker to three Relationship Managers with portfolios across key corporate, public sector and financial institution clients

·Responsible for operational effectiveness of the client relationship across multiple products and geographies

·Interface with offshore support functions to drive client onboarding and maintenance processes including Know Your Client (KYC)

·Prepare capital management submissions for review in association with new lending opportunities and client reviews

·Support the co-ordination and execution of day-to-day credit requests from offshore Citi offices in conjunction with Institutional Credit Management to ensure appropriate credit limits are in place to support client activities.

·Act as an escalation point for clients and liaising with internal teams where required to ensure Operations and Product are taking the appropriate steps and responsibility to resolve items raised by the clients.  

·Build and develop client relationships with key stakeholders to support long-term growth of the franchise

Key Qualifications and skills

·Previous experience in Banking or Financial Services preferred with a general knowledge of banking policies procedures and documentation

·High energy, strong work ethic and ability to work proactively and independently

·Excellent attention to detail with an ability to manage multiple workstreams with varied timelines.

·Problem solving with a collaborative focus and critical thinking skills

·Ability to work across multiple time zones

·Strong interpersonal and cultural skills to work with a variety of countries and products across the region

·Adaptable and growth-oriented, continuously seeking improvement.

·Bachelor’s degree or similar qualification

·Fluent in English
