Corporate Banker - Vice President
Our Corporate Banking team is a leading provider of value-added financial services to top-tier Local, Public Sector and Financial Institution clients. This starts from a comprehensive understanding of our clients’ complex financial needs, which allows us to effectively deliver innovative solutions to meet their demands and exigencies.
As a Banker, you will drive the client dialogue on capital structuring, liquidity and funding strategies, risk management, as well as ancillary tools in support of various businesses.
The Corporate Bank is best positioned to introduce to clients Citi’s full product suite, through holistically managed relationships, across our unparalleled global network.
Unique to Citi, Corporate Bankers are also responsible for deciding where to invest the firm's capital and for executing on the capital management strategy. Corporate Bankers work in partnership with various Citi teams across the firm including Risk Management, Markets, Treasury & Trade Solutions, Investment Banking and Capital Markets Origination.
Responsibilities:
- Exhibit on a day-to-day basis a strong corporate finance mindset, in all internal and client interactions.
- Focus on a dynamic and complex segment of the Romanian economy, across Large Corporates, Public Sector and Financial Institutions.
- Maintain & service existing clients, but mainly expand the portfolio within the dedicated target market and in line with Citi’s standards, policies and procedures, and originate new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships. Interact with key customer decision makers and stakeholders, based on a deep understanding of various business models & sectors.
- Manage independently a diverse client portfolio, with a high degree of complexity.
- Cross-sell together with dedicated partners a wide range of solutions, including financing & wider capital structuring options, cash management, trade & financial markets.
- Lead alongside internal partners various approval processes, incl. greenlight & credit memos.
- Bring value add ideas. Contribute to various presentations, pitches and client decks, as well as support partners with diverse internal materials / content.
- Have a solid understanding of capital markets products and work closely with partners to identify / originate opportunities.
- Display know-how & awareness in terms of early problem recognition and remedial management, along with a strong understanding of risks.
- Keep a sound quality of the credit portfolio, ensure adherence to Citi’s credit policies, procedures, programs, and best practices.
- Maintain a strong and solid control environment (as per the AML, KYC and other policies).
- Promote an enhanced customer experience & drive customer satisfaction.
- Regular interaction with multiple cross border teams and partners, as well as the local leadership team.
Requirements:
- The applicant should have 8+ years of relevant Banking experience.
- Bachelor / University degree (Finance / Economics preferred).
- Excellent English language knowledge and native Romanian.
- Proven sales track record in previous client fronting roles.
- Ability to execute independently on complex transactions with limited guidance.
- Sound credit knowledge, including financial modelling (CFA is an advantage).
- Expertise in risk assessment and in identifying any early warning signals.
