Team/Role Overview

• Fiduciary Monitoring Unit is responsible for the core depositary duties of investment restriction monitoring, periodic NAV reviews and cash flow monitoring for both UCITS and AIF clients.
• ThepositionexiststoprotectinterestsofinvestorsinfundsandtoensureCitigroup'sfranchise andreputationissafeguardedwiththeappropriateregulatorybodies,mutualfundsmarketand client base.
• Lead a team ofFiduciaryMonitoringOfficers,actingasaprimarycontactinthedeliveryof an excellent Depositary service to our clients on a daily basis.
• The oversight of Fund Administrators, Managers and Transfer Agents in order to ensure that fundstowhichCitiaretheappointedDepositaryaremanagedinaccordancewithregulatory requirements.
• Work withCitibank Europe plcPoland(CEPP) Trusteeoperationsactingasserviceproviderfor theNAVreviewprocess,investmentrestrictionmonitoring,dailybankingandotherprocessesin accordance with the PLSD / ICSA and approved procedures.
• ToensureaconsistentEMEAserviceandproductofferingisdeliveredandwhererequired developed for existing and potential fund clients.

What you’ll do

Managing a team of professionals with responsibility for:

• Completion of daily cash flow monitoring across all clients. Tracking all issues and communication with clients.
• Execution of investment and borrowing monitoring checks for designated funds, monitoring all relevant aspects of investment management activity, including securities lending, OTC / exchange traded derivatives and third party held assets, to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Liaising with clients in relation to classification of breaches and agreeing compensation to be paid.  This includes reporting of material breaches to the Regulator.
• Oversight the NAV review process and liaising with the fund administrator and client to resolve queries in a timely manner.
• Collaboratively working with our offshored service provider through weekly and monthly service calls, onsite review meetings.
• Oversight of the Citi and third party Fund Administrators in relation to the processes and controls in place for the preparation of the NAV.
• The timely and accurate set-up of new funds from the standpoint of investment monitoring, NAV review, cashflow monitoring and asset register.
• Manage the flow of data received by/from internal support teams to ensure that relevant and timely information is provided to clients and their associated service providers. Work with internal support teams and external parties to resolve any outstanding client issues.
• Work with relevant parties to ensure in-specie transactions are executed in a timely and accurate manner
• People management including responsibility for performance reviews and providing direction with team members career development through training and coaching.

What we’ll need from you

• 7+ years Fiduciary or other compliance/financial services related experience.
• Experience working with exceptions-based monitoring systems in Trustee/Depositary, custody, fund accounting or reconciliation systems e.g. CRIMS.
• Good technical knowledge of financial instruments and investment strategies.
• Knowledge of UCITS & AIFMD investment restrictions would be a requirement.
• In-depth understanding of European fund regulations.
• Some experience interacting with MS Excel tools (including VBA and SQL) would be highly desirable
• Excellent communication skills, both oral & written including confidence in dealing with clients and internal parties at all levels.
• Self-starting, idea generating, able to show initiative and manage deliverables from start to finish.
• Analytical, technical, IT, numeracy & intellectual ability to understand derivatives within the context of regulations
