Securities & Derivatives Representative
The Securities & Derivatives Rep 5 is an entry level position , we are seeking a highly responsible individual to join our Dublin Secure Room within Issuer Services Operation. The objective of this role is to assist in the physical safekeeping , reconciliation and destruction of sensitive financial instruments. The role involves the secure handling of short and medium term debt including Certificate of Deposits, European Commercial Paper, Bonds, European Medium Term Notes and Warrants in compliance with internal controls and industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on accuracy and operational efficiency within a secure and controlled environment.
Responsibilities:
- Safekeeping – Print, Authenticate and File physical certificates . Ensure accuracy of completed documentation
- Destruction – Complete Destruction process on a daily basis. Following termination of an Issuers debt obligations (either at expected maturity date or an earlier date if repurchased) the Global Note representing the debt must be destroyed. A report of items ready for destruction is run each day showing all items due to be destroyed following receipt of Disposal Authority from the ICSDs.
- Reconciliation – Perform a reconciliation of the physical records against the internal books and records. This is part of the Client Asset Regulatory (CAR) Requirement. On a Bi-Annual basis the Dublin Secure Room is required to complete a full count of all securities that are held as Common Depository on behalf of the International Centralized Securities Depository (ICSD). The details of which are entered in a system under dual control.
- Complete operational tasks focused on administering defined procedures, analyses and report preparation
- Minimize risk to the bank by monitoring errors and suggesting solutions that reduce errors, and ensure adherence to audit and control policies
- Identify policy gaps and propose efforts to streamline the securities and derivatives settlement processes
- Monitor, analyze and evaluate processes and data to ensure the accuracy and quality of completed settlement tasks
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of how the team collaborates with other areas in accomplishing assigned tasks
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Relevant experience preferably in banking area
- Fundamental knowledge of securities activities, policies, procedures, and concepts and advantage
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- 5 days on site work
