Citi is seeking a highly experienced and driven Solution Train Engineer (STE) to lead a critical initiative modernizing our core banking systems. This high-impact role involves coordinating a new Agile Release Train (ART) focused on re-engineering a legacy system, while seamlessly integrating with existing ARTs responsible for critical banking functions. This flagship program will leverage cutting-edge technologies and processes to re-platform the legacy system and develop a new web-based application, setting the standard for innovation and excellence within the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and Lead the Solution Train: Launch and lead the Solution Train, fostering a collaborative environment across multiple ARTs and stakeholders.

  • Drive the Re-engineering Initiative: Guide the new ART through the re-engineering process, ensuring alignment with the overall solution vision, architectural roadmap, and business objectives. This includes re-platforming the legacy system and developing a new web-based application.

  • Coordinate with Existing ARTs: Collaborate closely with RTEs and stakeholders in existing ARTs to manage dependencies, ensure seamless integration, and optimize value delivery across the solution train.

  • Champion Agile and Lean Practices: Promote and facilitate the adoption of Agile and Lean principles and practices across the solution train, coaching ARTs and stakeholders on their effective application.

  • Facilitate Solution Train Events: Plan and facilitate key solution train events, including Pre- and Post-PI Planning, Solution Demos, and Inspect & Adapt workshops.

  • Manage Risks and Dependencies: Proactively identify and manage risks and dependencies across the solution train, escalating critical issues and facilitating resolution.

  • Drive Architectural Alignment: Collaborate with architects and technical leads to ensure alignment with the solution architecture and technical strategy.

  • Track and Report Progress: Monitor and report on the solution train's progress towards strategic objectives, providing transparent and timely updates to senior leadership.

  • Foster Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Cultivate a culture of innovation and continuous improvement across the solution train, encouraging experimentation and learning from successes and failures.

  • Champion Cutting-Edge Technologies: Promote the adoption and effective utilization of cutting-edge technologies within the solution train, ensuring the program remains at the forefront of innovation in the financial industry.

Qualifications:

  • Couple of years of experience in Agile leadership roles, including experience as an RTE or STE.

  • Proven experience launching and leading Agile Release Trains and Solution Trains.

  • Deep understanding of Agile and Lean principles and practices, including SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban.

  • Experience with legacy system modernization, re-platforming, and large-scale software development projects.

  • Strong technical acumen and familiarity with modern web technologies and banking systems.

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proven ability to influence and drive change within a complex organizational environment.

  • Experience with Agile project management tools such as Jira.

  • SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) or SAFe Solution Train Engineer (STE) certification preferred.
