Technical Project Manager - Assistant Vice President
The Issuer Services Technology team manages a suite of applications globally, all of which are business critical in supporting the Agency & Trust and Depositary Receipts business Operations and Front Office teams.
The Technical Project Manager role requires strong technical background, deep understanding of software development methodology and process needed to produce high quality code, and ability to map business requirements to technology solutions. This role is focused on executing and leading technology projects spanning across all the Issuer Services applications based in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and the business lines we support, with a focus on transformation, modernization and innovation. The responsibilities will also include the day-day management of the implementation of regulatory and business mandatory enterprise enhancements.
Key objectives of this role
- Oversees the technical aspects of a moderately complex IT project, ensuring technical requirements are met, and collaborating closely with engineers and developers to resolve technical challenges and ensure smooth integration of systems or applications.
- Create, manage, and report on key milestones for assigned projects
- Business Management related functions supporting projects – Budget & capacity planning
- Responsible for all executive management reporting, and the preparation and delivery of all supporting collateral including but not limited to the full maintenance of the project in Citi’s Project Management Tool
- Daily project management and oversite throughout the project lifecycle
- Work seamlessly with project teams that are executing using SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) methodology, understand mapping of project deliverables to EPICS and User stories, track delivery of work through usage of JIRA dashboards; participate in PI (Program Increment) planning
- Focus on the creation and implementation of a robust Project governance (controls) structure for the Issuer Services technology group
- Manage the risks and issues of the project and work with the teams to take corrective measurements
- Manage all stakeholders’ communication
- Interact with the PMO group to manage the main program documentations according to Citi’s policies and procedures
- Interact and manage the relationship with the assigned technical lead/ teams to understand critical milestones, deliveries, and releases
- Asses risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Ideal Candidate:
- 5-8 years of experience as a Technical Project Manager. Strong and proven practical experience in project management, which was gained through successfully managing large and complex projects.
- Experience working in prior software development roles of coding and testing
- Strong familiarity with Agile methodology and usage of JIRA
- Scrum Master and PMP certification strongly desired
- Experience working in a technology division of a large banking institution desired
- Ability to work positively with the wide range of individuals involved in project management
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Extremely organized
- Advanced presentation skills
- Ability to navigate in global, large, and complex organization
- Strong ability to influence without authority
- Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
- A bachelor's degree of Science in business management, administration (or any relevant degree), with proven experience in project Management tools and techniques
