Director for Data Quality and Governance (IT Sr. Group Manager- C15) - JERSEY CITY
The Data Engineering team within the Enterprise Data Office (EDO) is looking for a seasoned professional to manage large scale data quality programs across technology asset classes to drive remediation and demonstrating of data quality improvements. The Data Engineering is a service-centric organization focused on digitizing the firm’s products/services, driving out manual work, delivering world-class client experience, and enabling growth via scalability. The Data Quality organization within Data Engineering is responsible for driving large scale data quality improvement initiatives aligned to regulatory commitments including front to back adoption of core identifiers, the reduction of data adjustments, and implementing data quality controls for monitoring and actioning.
The Data Quality team’s remit includes responsibility for management of the Technology book of work to ensure standards adoption and persistence completion, SLA compliance, timely delivery, and prioritization of key efforts across all asset classes including the Standards Adoption Program. This role will oversee the prioritization and driving results across the Technology asset classes to enable delivery and improvements to the firm’s completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of its data. This is a cross-functional role that requires strong stakeholder management across Technology, Businesses and Functions. In addition, the role requires focus on metrics improvements and management to leverage data set for issues and paths to green.
This senior manager will be responsible for delivery required by Consent Order initiatives, and the role demands the ability to partner and influence at all levels of the firm. The role is integral in ensuring issues are identified and remediated with measurable metrics to ensure transparency internally and externally to demonstrable progress against DQ improvements.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Driving execution and delivery across Technology Asset Classes to close out RBCMs and associated Deliverables
- Managing multiple large scale and complex programs across the technology data strategy
- Enhancing existing asset class governance framework to enable scalability across increases programs to manage and increased frequency in order to expedite the identification of risks and paths to green
- Providing weekly and monthly updates at senior governance forums for key workstreams
- Partnering with senior Business, Operations, and Technology management functions to ensure gaps in data quality and standard identifier adoption are remediated as part of Consent Order and NonConsent Order prioritized Book of Work items.
- Setting strategy and enforcing clear and complete documentation and socialization of methodologies for new Data Quality metrics.
- Automating/enhancing Data Quality processes, governance, and reporting.
- Managing a team of data analysts involved in Data Quality initiatives
- Partnering with senior Business, Operations, and Technology management functions to ensure gaps in data quality and standard identifier adoption are remediated as part of prioritized Book of Work items.
- Preparing and presenting written and verbal updates to senior management.
- Ensuring adherence to best practices supporting Citi's Program, Project, and Data Management Standards
Qualifications:
15+ years' experience in a related technology role with commensurate people management experience.
15+ years in Financial Services Technology is expected for this position.
Extensive experience with data governance standards, operating models and risk & control frameworks
Must have regulatory and financial reports such as CCAR experienceExpertise leading large scale enterprise-wide initiatives with a clear track record of success.
Expertise presenting & socializing with Senior Management across Business & Technology.
Experience with financial products, specifically Capital Markets & Investment Banking, Commercial Loans and Secondary Traded Loans.
Demonstrated leadership, management, and development skills
Functional and technical experience in Capital Markets Technology across Front Office, Middle Office, Operations, Risk & Finance
Data and results oriented, with excellent attention to detail, and proven analytical skills.
Solid relationship building skills with track record of results.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with management and employees across business units.
Proven track record of delivery across multiple Programs involving process change and technology enhancements.
Proven stakeholder management and team leadership skills
Strong sense of urgency and ability to manage competing priorities while delivering results quickly and efficiently.
Expertise with Data Reconciliations & Control processes preferred.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
PMP Certification beneficial
