Department Overview
The Issuer Services Department is part of the wider Services organiztion. The Department contains a diverse section of units which support our Issuer Services Clients, Product and Sales partners. The services we provide include Depository servicing, Issuing & Paying agency services and Specialised Agency functions such as Account Bank, Project Finance, Structured Finance and Escrow Agent functions.
Typical Corporate Trust clients of Citi include major international and national-level corporations, financial institutions (FIs), banks, and public sector/sovereign Debt issuers, as well as investment banks, asset managers, and stand-alone collateral managers.
Team/Position Overview
To provide a centralised focus point, co-ordination, and execution for transformation initiatives across Issuer Operations. In addition, the individual will be expected to identify further areas for improvement within a group, the role shall see the successful candidate identify and implement necessary changes to enable the business to perform to its optimal ability, working closely with business and technology partners to ensure the group is positioned to grow in an efficient and controlled manner, reviewing current practices and engaging in Industry led initiatives

In this role, you’re expected to:
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate fully as a part of the global Issuer Operations Leadership team, constantly striving to find new ways to collaborate, innovate, identify synergies, transform, and improve the business to ensure overall success.
- Drive or execute strategies allowing global Issuer Operations to operate in its Target Operating Model
- Oversight and Governance of all transformation initiatives, ensuring regular communication of status.
- Ongoing review of new and existing processes, systems, and industry initiatives to ensure group are correctly positioned to support continuing business growth.
- Increase productivity and efficiencies through the delivery of technology and process solutions, ensuring timely and controlled delivery.
- Assist with overseeing the risk control environment, compliance efforts to follow policies and procedures and keep abreast of Citi's operational processes and best practices in business strategy
- Filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex material from multiple sources, including external clients and internal operations groups
- Closely follow trends in the industry, identify opportunities and build effective relationships with clients and key stakeholders
- Serve as an industry operational expert in the corporate trust ecosystem while supporting a wide range of internal and external clients
- Serve as an advisor and coach to new or junior level staff on procedures and work processes across multiple groups.
- Manage relationships with internal stakeholders such as Product, Technology, Risk to ensure complete understanding of client needs, that there is continuous, open, and constructive dialogue aiming to increase business growth within a controlled risk environment
- Engage in Product Reviews and all new and prospective deal review discussions
- Develop a framework of a mutual commitment to meeting evolving business requirements and adapting to changing circumstances. Treat change as an opportunity to improve the service
As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:
Experience and Skills
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Senior to advanced level experience in a related role
- Corporate Trust experience and strong technical knowledge of Issuer products essential
- Proven ability to execute
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills; ability to build and maintain effective networks and relationships.
- Ability to establish and build trust with clients and senior leaders throughout the business, demonstrate strong communication, advisory and influencing skills with a strong client service orientation
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and prioritise within aggressive deadlines
- Ability to work effectively in situations requiring analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving techniques
- Results oriented, creative, and resourceful problem solver using impeccable integrity and judgment
- Demonstrated success coordinating with senior leadership and technology partners.
- Proven ability to manage various concurrent activities/projects in a high-risk environment
- Effective project management and negotiation skills
- Consistently demonstrated clear and concise written and verbal communication
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred
