We are seeking a detail oriented and solutions-driven senior tax operations expert to join our team in London. This role will support the execution of indirect tax operations and regulatory compliance across the UK and EMEA clusters, contributing to our global tax operations strategy.

This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate local withholding tax treatment & tax authority reporting for the Europe cluster. The role offers a unique opportunity to support technology enabled transformation, collaborate with global and regional stakeholders and gain exposure to emerging tax trends such as e-invoicing and digital reporting. This position also requires interaction with bankers, clients, government tax authorities and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage client tax operations across the UK, EMEA cluster, including accurate tax reconciliations and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with local tax legislations and internal polices
  • Liaise with in-country corporate tax and legal teams to operationalize new or changing VAT/GST rules
  • Assist in the interpretation and implementation of regulatory requirement such as EU ViDA, SAF-T, and local e-invoicing mandates
  • Govern tax operations services provided by shared service centers (CSC), ensuring consistent standards, service quality and strong control frameworks.
  • Represent the region in global tax governance forums, driving alignment with enterprise tax strategies
  • Partner with local corporate tax & finance teams to monitor, interpret and operationalize changes in VAT/GST legislations
  • Engage with local tax authorities, manage operational audits, and oversee regulatory submission and inquires
  • Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders (Finance, product, tech, legal) to drive digital tax transformation and enhance process efficiency
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate operational and tax risks through proactive controls, timely escalations and remediation efforts.
  • Support additional regulatory tax reporting such as U.S. Qualified Intermediary, FATCA, and Automatic Exchange of Information (CRS Reporting). Collaborate with client-facing teams to guide proper tax form collection and status classification
  • Develop business requirements for system-related enhancements and manage the end-to-end implementation of new or amended taxes.

Qualifications:

  • A good track record of experience in tax operations, indirect tax compliance, or regulatory reporting in financial services.
  • Working knowledge of UK and Europe VAT regulations, understanding of EU e-invoicing, ViDA or SAF-T frameworks is a plus
  • Familiarity with U.S. client tax documentation (W-8, W-9) and FATCA requirements.
  • Proven track record of managing cross border teams and working with global tax, legal , finance and technology partners.
  • Hands on experience with tax audits, remediation programs and process risk management
  • Knowledge about the Double Tax Treaty Agreements, International Taxation, Custody Operations, Relief at source and reclaim.
  • Senior to advanced level experience in a related role with appropriate experience in people management preferred
  • Strong multi-tasking, organizational and time management skills with experience in continuously following up with various stakeholders and execution teams.
  • Ability to take initiative, self-motivate and consistently demonstrate a results-driven mindset.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct detailed analyses of complex tax processes.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in compliance with client data privacy laws.
  • Critical thinking and drawing logical conclusions.

Education & Skills:

  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience, preferably in finance and banking
  • Fluent English: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in a concise and coherent manner with international clients and bankers.
  • Proficiency in tax software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Demonstrate ability to work flexible across time zones in global environment
