Mid-Corp Senior Relationship Manager - C14 - MADRID
Citi is expanding its Commercial Banking business in Spain and Portugal, serving predominantly the mid-sized corporate segment focused on a variety of growth industries with international banking needs.
Primary responsibilities of the Senior Relationship Manager are to build relationships while providing solutions for CCB clients. in Spain and Portugal. The role involves day-to-day cooperation and collaboration with products, operations, implementation and risk management teams at all levels (country, regional and global) in order to source, develop and grow client relationships. The individual in this role will have responsibility for developing solutions and product proposals for clients along with various internal partners, supporting the onboarding process of clients, and building and maintaining a client portfolio.
Job Description / Key Responsibilities:
- Acquire new, multi-product clients for the Bank and manage those relationships on an ongoing basis.
- Client-level planning, budget and revenue responsibilities. Identify cross-sell opportunities to deepen and increase share of wallet;
- Work closely with EMEA TTS implementation team, CCB Cash Sales Managers, Underwriting / Risk teams, Markets experts and Relationship Associates on a daily basis. Interaction with other CCB structures across the globe. Collaborate with Investment Banking and Private Banking teams to develop opportunities;
- Administrate the credit relationship of clients, coordinate and supervise the entire process, ensuring the proper application of policies and institutional processes;
- Maximize client experience by proactively sharing markets updates, trends and intelligence;
- Verify adherence to global KYC (Know Your Customer) standards during the onboarding process and, on an ongoing basis, ensuring the appropriate compliance deliverables are met;
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Citi's policies / guidelines at all time;
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Knowledge:
- Sound knowledge of Spanish market as well as banking, treasury / lending / markets products and processes. Corporate Finance mindset. Solid track record of providing banking and financial advice and solutions to clients;
- Demonstrate strong credit skills; capable of structuring all credit deals and the ability to identify risks / issues and track them to closure
- Experience in managing multiple project timelines and prioritizations;
- Ability to coordinate multi-functional teams to provide an exceptional client experience;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills (e.g. negotiation, consultative skills, leadership);
- Highly focused, able to rapidly identify key priorities, clearly communicate the priorities;
- Accountable for significant direct business results and provide advice regarding the operations and growth of the business;
- A proactive approach in looking for ways to develop new and strengthen existing business relationships with clients, delivers a simple, secure and seamless client experience;
- Ability to embrace new technology and understand the role digital plays in the experience that we deliver for our clients;
- Must have a sharp business development focus and demonstrate innovative approaches;
- Able to quickly adapt priorities based on the latest data insights;
- Demonstrate thought leadership. Ability to create long-term trust and advisory based relationships with clients.

- Fluency in Spanish and English required (written and spoken). Portuguese desirable
Experience / Education:
- Experience as a Banker with solid knowledge of the Spanish market.
- Graduate / Master’s degree preferred.
