IF Generalist Senior Lead

Citibank, N.A. seeks an IF Generalist Senior Lead for its Miami, FL location.

Duties: Market and sell a full Investment Finance lending product range, including calling clients, visiting, and planning accounts in partnership with Private Bankers covering Latin American clients. Responsible for appropriate transaction origination and execution of highly complex credit transactions within and across product programs including Aircraft, Art, Commercial Real Estate, Insurance, Private Equity, security-based lending, and Tailored financing with appropriate risk and return characteristics. Structure financial analysis across various entities incorporated in various legal jurisdictions, utilizing financial accounting concepts to analyze balance sheets, income statements, and cash flows to assess the financial health of companies to identify potential risks and take appropriate measures to mitigate them. Ensure appropriate Citi Credit Policy and Risk Acceptance standard compliance as well as cross border requirements and offshore conduct rules. Define and negotiate with the clients and Citi Private Bank credit approvers, the credit structure of the lending transactions including pricing, tenor, amortization, collateral, and guarantors, along with the credit framework to contain covenants, representations and warranties, and events of defaults. Coordinate with external counsel and the internal risk management division to negotiate, obtain, and close credit documentation, ensuring compliance with all Citi and external policies. Monitor existing lending portfolio assessing borrowers’ and guarantors’ suitability and repayment capacity identifying key risks and implement mitigants to minimize residual risks for products. Propose credit classification and appropriate risk rating on specific transactions and relationships when necessary. Influence stakeholders including clients, bank senior management, risk management, auditors, or other areas of the bank, to deliver against budget and ensure processes meet the bank’s standards. Enhance and support the development of regional and local lending product programs to ensure they keep pace with an ever-changing Latin American market environment and client’s needs. A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite in accordance with Citi policies and protocols.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a related field, and eight (8) years of experience in the job offered, or in a related occupation, conducting financial debt structuring for international clients within the financial services industry. Eight (8) years of experience must include: Working with offshore clients investing in the U.S. using lending products including bridge loans, syndicated loans, revolving facilities, committed facilities, and collateralized loans; Originating, structuring, and executing complex lending transactions involving multiple jurisdictions and entities in accordance with cross-border policies and local regulations within the Latin America banking industry; Overseeing foreign exchange exposure and local regulations in Latin American countries using knowledge of financial markets, investments, and banking and lending products; Analyzing and interpreting Latin American companies’ financial statements using local accounting standards; Utilizing financial accounting concepts to analyze balance sheet, income statements, and cash flows and assessing the financial health of companies to identify potential risks and take appropriate measures to mitigate them; and Evaluating the income adequacy of the borrower, guarantor, and customer by analyzing projected cash flows against currency fluctuations, inflation, foreign exchange restrictions, debt limitations, and income and withholding taxes. 40 hrs./wk. 15% domestic and international travel required.
