The Apps Support Intmd Analyst is a developing professional role. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.

About the Role:

We are looking for a technically strong and functionally knowledgeable Application Support Analyst to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have solid hands-on experience with middleware, databases, and monitoring tools, along with strong functional understanding of the payments domain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support production systems and ensure application stability and availability in the payments environment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to transactions, message flows, and system performance
  • Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure functional alignment and smooth deployments
  • Manage and monitor critical infrastructure components such as Kafka, IBM MQ, WebSphere, and OpenShift
  • Leverage monitoring tools like ITRS Geneos, AppDynamics, and Kibana to proactively detect and resolve issues
  • Document incidents, procedures, and domain knowledge

Functional Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of the payments domain,
  • Payment processing workflows
  • Transaction lifecycle (initiation, authorization, clearing, settlement)
  • Reconciliation and exception handling
  • Familiarity with ISO 20022, SWIFT, or real-time payments is a plus

Technical skills required:

  • Databases: Strong knowledge of SQL, hands-on  experience with Oracle and MongoDB
  • OS & Middleware: Proficient in Linux, IBM MQ, WebSphere and OpenShift
  • Messaging & Streaming: experience with Kafka
  • Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with ITRS Geneos, Kibana, AppDynamics and Splunk.

Nice to Have:

  • Scripting skills (Shell, Python, etc..)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Exposure to cloud platforms

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
