The Annuity Business Development Specialist is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.

Responsibilities:

  • The Annuity Business Development Specialist role reports to the Annuity Distribution Manager, who works under the Field Management organization. This position will work closely with Advisors and Wealth Planners.
  • Act as subject matter expert. Educates Advisors and Relationship Managers on Citi Annuity product offering and the submission processes.
  • The Annuity Business Development Specialist role is client facing and may attend customer/prospect investment meetings or seminars held by CPWM, if invited, and provide support including annuity specific questions and address annuity-related issues.
  • Assist in the growth of Annuity business with outgoing calls to Advisors and other sales development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Wealth Planning team on positioning Annuities as a potential solution for retirement income gaps.
  • Be a student of the industry and constantly learn about new Annuity products, industry and product development trends and the regulatory environment.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to provide field input on product gaps and areas for Advisor training and education.
  • Serve as point of escalation for any questions relating to product offering, platform navigation, submission process questions.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years relevant experience
  • Client-centric skills including excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of annuity products and concepts required
  • Series 7 & 63, and Life and Health required
  • Ability to multitask and perform well under pressure
  • Excellent analytical and follow-up skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Must be a self-starter, problem solver and a goal-oriented team player

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$142,320.00 - $213,480.00
