The Commercial Summer Analyst participates in a 10 week Summer Internship Program which provides the knowledge and training needed to play a valuable role on any team; and take the first steps towards a long-term career at Citi. The Summer Analysts will receive real-world work, and will be expected to add value to their teams during their time at Citi. The Program will provide on-the-job-training in these potential Commercial functions/areas:

Responsibilities:

  • Cash Management and Trade: Helps clients succeed by leveraging Citi’s global network and our award winning digital solutions. Assists clients in finding ways to maximize their growth while taking full advantage of Citi’s banking products.
  • Client Coverage: Works directly with Relationship Managers on a portfolio of clients; interfaces with various Citi teams across the firm and around the world including credit underwriting, cash management, loans, foreign exchange, derivatives, capital markets and investment banking. Serves as critical team member supporting Relationship Managers with managing the existing portfolio and generating new business.
  • Energy Banking: Responsible for financial analysis, constructing cash flow models, researching industry trends, creating pitch books for both internal and external use, and supporting energy companies with capital solutions.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


Qualifications:

  • Ability to work both independently as well as on a team, Organizational skills, a high degree of self-motivation, initiative, and leadership potential
  • Ability to prepare deliverables for meetings with high profile clients and executives while exhibiting professionalism, maturity, and insight throughout interactions with the clients
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Innovative and creative problem-solving ability, Intellectual curiosity
  • Cooperation and focus in achieving group and client objectives
  • Relatable, demonstrated negotiation skills, negotiation skills, analytical capacity, dynamism and enthusiasm

Education:

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
