Join Our Elite Escrow Team and Drive Success in the World of M&A and Private Equity!

Are you a dynamic, detail and results-oriented, self-motivated professional with a passion for building relationships with minimum hand-holding and a knack for navigating the complexities of M&A and private equity transactions? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where your contributions directly impact deal success? If so, we invite you to join our team as an Escrow Sales Lead, in what can be described as a Junior Business Development Officer (BDO) role.

The Opportunity:

As an integral part of our escrow business development team, you will play a critical role in cultivating and expanding our network within the M&A and private equity ecosystem. You will work alongside a seasoned M&A Escrow Business Development Officer, focusing on building strong relationships with law firm associates who are actively involved in deal teams. Your primary objective will be to educate these key influencers on account setup requirements with an emphasis on AML/KYC requirements, ultimately driving new business and ensuring smooth deal closings. Desirable candidates will be highly-adaptable and willing to work outside of business hours as required, from time to time.

What You'll Do:

  • Relationship Cultivation: Proactively identify, engage, and nurture relationships with law firm associates specializing in M&A and private equity, as well as other legal practice areas, from time to time, that may require escrow and paying agent services.
  • Service Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on escrow and paying agent solutions, providing clear and concise explanations of our services and their value proposition to legal professionals.
  • Deal Facilitation: Collaborate with deal teams to seamlessly integrate our escrow and paying agent services into transaction workflows, ensuring timely and efficient account setup and fund disbursement. This requires working in a highly organized, accurate, and speedy fashion, given the demanding timelines of busy law firms and may require working outside of standard business hours to accommodate client demand. An adaptable mindset is key.
  • AML/KYC Compliance: Leverage your understanding of bank AML/KYC requirements to guide clients through the necessary documentation processes for escrow and paying agent account establishment.
  • Sales Support: Assist in the preparation of compelling presentations and customized marketing materials to showcase our escrow and paying agent capabilities.
  • Risk Management: Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience: 6-10 years of experience in a sales, business development, or relationship management role, preferably within the financial services or legal industries.
  • M&A/Private Equity Acumen: A strong understanding of M&A and private equity transactions, including the role of escrow and paying agent services in facilitating successful deal closings.
  • AML/KYC Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of bank AML/KYC requirements as they relate to escrow and paying agent account setup.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence legal professionals.
  • Technical Proficiency: Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized and efficient, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Education: Bachelor's/University degree required; Master's degree a plus.

Why Join Us?

  • Be at the Forefront of M&A: Play a pivotal role in the dynamic world of M&A and private equity, contributing to the success of high-profile transactions.
  • Career Growth: Opportunity to advance your career within a leading financial institution.
  • Collaborative Environment: Work alongside a team of experienced professionals in a supportive and collaborative environment.

If you are a driven and passionate individual with a desire to make a significant impact in the M&A and private equity space, we encourage you to apply!
