Investment Banking Associate

Citigroup Global Markets Inc. seeks an Investment Banking Associate for its New York, NY location.

Duties: Assist clients in raising funds in capital markets and provide strategic advisory services for mergers, acquisitions, and other types of financial transactions in coordination with the Institutional Banking team. Act as a strategic advisor by formulating investment strategies and raising capital for clients. Work with senior Banking, Capital Markets and Advisory (BCMA) officers and professionals and participate in client transaction projects or assignments as the junior member of the Investment Banking team. Responsible for organizing and analyzing sophisticated financial data used in client proposals and strategic plans. Prepare written recommendations, valuation materials, and statistical exhibits for pitches and live deals. Conduct economic and financial research. Evaluate company financial performance compared to overall industry and market trends. Build complex financial models for valuation purposes. A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite in accordance with Citi policies and protocols.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or a related field, and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related finance occupation providing strategic advisory services to clients. Two (2) years of experience must include: Organizing and analyzing sophisticated financial data used in client proposals and strategic plans and preparing written recommendations, valuation materials, and statistical exhibits for pitches and live deals; Building complex financial models for valuation purposes; Utilizing financial data platforms including FactSet and SNL to analyze asset performance and provide market trend analysis; Creating and employing industry-specific modeling including rate base and tax equity to evaluate company performance compared to overall industry and market trends, and produce valuation analyses; Utilizing specific Power, Utilities & Renewables sector knowledge to draft industry materials focusing on trends, challenges, and opportunities in the sector; and Handling deal-related processes including preparing marketing materials, responding to investor inquiries, managing data rooms, and working alongside transaction parties including lawyers to draft deal documents and legal disclosures. 40 hrs./wk.
