Senior Associate for Global Money Markets Origination – Commercial Paper
Citi’s Global Money Markets Business distributes commercial paper for investment grade issuers, institutional certificates of deposit for highly-rated banks and asset-backed commercial paper for conduit funding vehicles. Our issuing and investing clients have significant overlap with Citi’s core institutional client base. Citi is one of the largest dealers in the global commercial paper market which consists of U.S. commercial paper and Euro commercial paper.
The origination function within Global Money Markets is responsible for:
- Identifying potential business opportunities by working with Banking and Capital Markets product partners
- Developing relationships with existing and potential issuer clients, providing them with information and market knowledge
- Pitching new business opportunities
- Working directly with clients, legal counsel and internal functions to negotiate and document new commercial paper programs
- Reviewing and executing amendments for existing commercial paper programs
- Enhancing investor client coverage by coordinating with sales to expand credit approval and build relationships with credit teams at key clients
- Coordinating with Banking on issuer client coverage and relationship matters
The Associate role is focused on client coverage and transaction execution for new issuers and helping to coordinate our investor marketing effort with buy-side firms.
Qualifications:
- Five to seven years of experience as an Analyst or Associate in capital markets or banking
- Proven success working with a team and learning in a team-oriented environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to work under pressure and with time constraints
- Knowledge of short-term products, specifically U.S. and European commercial paper
- Existing relationships with commercial paper issuers and investors preferred but not required
- Familiarity with the documentation process in fixed income products
- Strong relationship building and sales skills
- High levels of energy, engagement and integrity
- Self-motivated
- BS/BA degree
- Series 7, 63 and 79 preferred

$130,000.00 - $170,000.00
