Apps Dev Tech Lead Analyst - C13 - PUNE
The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior-level position responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs, with a focus on Java full-stack technologies. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive projects to successful completion. The overall objective is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities, ensuring alignment with technology standards and business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of Java full-stack developers. Oversee the design, development, and implementation of high-quality software solutions.
- Full-Stack Development: Utilize expertise in Java, Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Cloud), RESTful APIs, and modern front-end technologies (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js) to develop robust and scalable applications.
- System Analysis and Design: Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals. Identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements. Conduct in-depth analysis of complex business processes and system processes to recommend innovative solutions.
- Project Management: Manage and implement successful projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget, and quality standards. Utilize project management methodologies (e.g., Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) using JIRA) to drive project execution.
- Code Quality and Standards: Ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint. Develop and enforce standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation. Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and compliance with standards.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, infrastructure engineers, and business analysts, to deliver integrated solutions. Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication.
- Mentoring and Coaching: Serve as an advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary and providing guidance on technical best practices.
- Risk Management: Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets. Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.
- DevOps Practices: Implement and promote DevOps practices, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, and automated testing.
- Containerization and Orchestration: Utilize OpenShift for container orchestration, ensuring applications are scalable, resilient, and easily deployed.
- Version Control: Manage source code using GitHub, following established branching strategies and code review processes.
Qualifications:
- 6-10 years of relevant experience in Apps Development or systems analysis role with a focus on Java full-stack development.
- Extensive experience in system analysis and in programming of software applications using Java technologies.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Cloud), RESTful APIs, and modern front-end technologies (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js).
- Experience with SQL Server database technologies and ORM frameworks (e.g., Hibernate, JPA).
- Experience in managing and implementing successful projects using Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and JIRA.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development with a focus on Java full-stack technologies.
- Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
- Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
- Experience with DevOps practices, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, and automated testing.
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration platforms (e.g., OpenShift).
- Proficiency in using GitHub for version control and collaboration.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
- Master’s degree preferred.
Must-haves:
- 8 to 12 years of experience with Strong event-driven architecture, design, and development skills
- Expert level knowledge of building J2EE applications using java 8 and above, Microservices, Spring and Spring boot.
- Experience with pub/sub infrastructure (eg Apache Kafka) and SQL Server/no-sql databases.
- Experience of cloud-native architectures and delivery of such solutions using microservice patterns.
- Experience and aptitude of Agile and DevOps approaches – e.g. continuous integration, test automation, frequent releases, containerization.
- Understanding of DevOps automation and application monitoring and support tools for example Jira, TeamCity, Jenkins, uDeploy, Docker, ELK, Grafana, Kubernetes, Helix, OpenShift and ECS.
- Understanding and passion for writing clean and reusable code.
- Knowledge of no-sql datastores for example elastic, mongodb.
- Experience working in mixed/virtual/diverse environments (small co-located team with a larger team in another location) Desirable: Financial services experience, Knowledge of resilient enterprise systems in areas like core banking, or financial messaging
- The candidate should have strong analytical and communication skills.
