About the Role:
- We are looking for a Senior Big Data Solution Architectto build and maintain - Platform Modernization, TransformationPrograms
- You’ll be part of a Core Accounts Data team that’s responsible for the full software development life cycle, upholding best-in-class engineering standards and modern methodologies.
- This role involves understanding business requirements, developing technical solutions, collaborating with other business partners and developers, breaking down acceptance criteria to understand team backlog deliverables, complexities, and risks, and contributing effectively to an agile team.
Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understanding Business Requirements: Collaborate with business stakeholders and product owners to thoroughly understand the business goals, objectives, and requirements driving the platform modernization effort. This includes understanding the current data landscape, data flows, and pain points.
- Defining Technical Vision: Develop a clear and comprehensive technical vision for the modernized platform, encompassing the Big Data technologies, architecture patterns, and infrastructure required to meet business needs.
- Solution Design: Create detailed solution designs and architectures, including data models, data pipelines, security considerations, and integration points with existing systems. This involves selecting appropriate Big Data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) and designing scalable and resilient data processing frameworks.
- Platform Selection & Migration Strategy: Lead the evaluation and selection of target platforms (cloud or on-premise) and develop a robust migration strategy to transition from the legacy platform to the modernized Big Data platform.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team throughout the project lifecycle. This includes conducting code reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Performance Optimization: Design and implement performance testing strategies to ensure the modernized platform meets performance requirements. This involves optimizing data processing jobs, tuning database configurations, and identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks.
- Collaboration & Communication: Effectively communicate technical concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and infrastructure teams.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design specifications, and operational runbooks.
- Staying Up-to-Date: Keep abreast of the latest trends and advancements in Big Data technologies and incorporate them into the platform modernization strategy as appropriate. This includes evaluating new tools and frameworks and recommending their adoption when beneficial.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure the modernized platform adheres to all relevant security and compliance regulations. This includes implementing appropriate access controls, data encryption mechanisms, and auditing procedures.
- Prepare handover documents, manage SIT, UAT, NFT testing and leading the development team to deliver on business requirements.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience
- Good understanding on Databases, Linux systems, Big Data systems
- Good understanding of Core Banking Domain
- Excellent trouble shooting and debugging skills
- Experience with Agile model, JIRA, Autosys, ServiceNow and other enterprise level project planning and tracking tools
- Experience with Modernization, Transformations and Retirement programs
- Ability to build relationship with business and technology stakeholders.
- Strong analytic skills, communication skills and internal customer management skills.
- Good problem solving skills
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
