Based in Taiwan, the VP Business Execution role reports to the Head of Business Execution Taiwan. The Business Execution team is responsible for driving strategic and business-critical initiatives and programs, uplifting and streamlining governance, ensuring effective Legal Entity management and controls, supporting Transformation execution, and cultivating a robust risk and control environment among other critical activities.
In this role, you’re expected to:
- Support the Taiwan Country Chief Officer & Banking Head (CCOBH) and Head of Business Execution on promoting a culture of proactive controls; ensure issue management best practices are adopted at the country and cluster levels; coordinate event and governance escalation of potential gaps and issues
- Engage with Banking & International teams on regular updates to senior management and the board; support the coordination of country governance committee meetings, including but not limited to agenda setting, meeting cadence, material preparation, follow up action, escalation path, and etc.
- Ensure the Country and Legal Entity governance model adheres to local laws and requirements and to Citi’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework by effectively addressing all risk stripes (Financial and non-Financial risk) across all lines of defense
- Champion of key initiatives that include policy review, Manager Control Assessment (MCA), Continuity of Business (COB) & Resiliency, required franchise or more senior level attestation, and etc.
- Independent execution of deep dives and standalone projects related to strategy, risks and control, simplification and business execution
- Participate and/or coordinate assigned deliverables within the Transformation programs
- Support two approved Hub Managed Countries (HMC) activities working with the assigned 1LOD delegates
- Facilitate franchise wide audit management and second line of defense review and contribute to regulatory exams / deliverables
- Support assigned key initiatives from the Japan, Asia North and Australia (JANA) Cluster
- Promote connectivity and best practices sharing across Taiwan franchise and with JANA and other country Business Execution teams
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
- Active participation in Legal Entity project simplification
As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:
- 8+ years of experience in financial services
- Experience in risk management and corporate governance preferred
- Experience working in global and complex settings with multiple stakeholders
- Proven ability to work in a team of diverse skill sets and cultures
- Proven ability to work in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments
- Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Ability to product succinct and effective presentation materials with strong attention to details
- Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master's degree preferred
