Managing Director, Head of Trade & Working Capital Technology

The Head of Trade and Working Capital Technology will be the senior technology executive supporting this $1.7B global, industry leading business. This role will partner with the business to deliver technology platforms that support business growth while protecting clients and the bank through strong resiliency and cyber security practices. 

The candidate will partner with the business to maintain the high-level technology roadmap, drive strategic investment in line with the roadmap, and make funding and trade-off decisions for the technology book of work.  This will include introducing new and innovative capabilities, including the use of AI across the Trade and Working Capital business. They will the oversee delivery of these solutions ensuring strong technical architecture alignment, high platform quality, and driving commercialization of solutions.

This role will manage a large full-stack technology team.  This includes driving architecture and modern development practices, as well as working with business and operations partners to continue maturating the agile delivery model.

Responsibilities include:

• Act as the senior technology advisor and partner to the Trade and Working Capital Business.
• Develop and execute the technology roadmap.
• Partner with the business to drive innovation, including cutting-edge AI solutions.
• Meet with clients to better understand their needs and deliver solutions that add business value for them.
• Track the product offering of competitors and related service providers to ensure competitiveness for Citi solutions.
• Oversee all technology delivery and support for Trade and Working Capital, including custom development, vendor and software package delivery, and internal partnerships and dependencies.
• Manage large full-stack technology team.
• Manage technology budget, including vendor costs and other technology allocations to the business.
• Drive ongoing improvements in engineering culture and agile development practices.
• Deliver scalable, highly resilient, automated solutions that deliver straight-through processing and a strong operational experience.
• Utilize standard bank capabilities and off the shelf vendor products to speed the time to market and cost effectiveness of the solution as appropriate

Qualifications:

• Significant experience in Financial Services preferably in Transaction Banking
• Possesses an observable and impactful delivery track record, including the architecture, build, deployment, integration and ongoing management of large-scale technology ecosystems
• Demonstrated skills in developing and executing strategies for transformation programs
• Strong influencing skills and ability to work in an environment where priorities are frequently changing
• Proven ability to establish and maintain business partnerships and client relationships
• Experience analyzing client requirements and developing suitable, cost-effective solutions
• Comprehensive understanding and awareness of appropriate corporate and regulatory policies
• Experience in performing complex problem solving and business trade off decision analysis
• Experience of work in a process driven environment
• Demonstrated people leadership / management
• Ability to provide leadership to the next generation of the global technology journey
