Responsibilities

This role will lead Payments Transformation projects and teams as a Senior Product Manager, under the Services’ Payments line of business. 

Payments Modernization is a key global initiative at the center of the Services’ Strategy transforming Citi’s payments model and infrastructure.  It implies implementing in Citi Franchises across the world a new payments ecosystem based on microservices and cloud technologies, designed to be globally consistent.   This new ecosystem will put Citi in a leadership position as payment service provider, taking advantage that new technologies and digitization bring to the market:  instant payments, 24 x 7 operation, process automation, integration of digital wallets, elimination of manual activities, digitization of the client journey and new digital value-added services for payers and payees.

As Citi in each country moves clients from legacy platforms to the new one, there is a complex transition to handle.  Quality of service must be kept at all times during the change.  The key objective of the Payments Transformation Senior Product Manager will be to oversee all aspects of the transformation initiative, including vision alignment, business prioritization, operational improvements, project management, business and technical solutioning, testing and client migration.  

As Senior Manager, manage the team of Product Managers covering multiple projects/ geographies/ functional groups under the scope of the Transformation initiative.   This includes being on top of all the dimensions of the transformation initiative: requirements intake, business design global alignment, client experience, Ops. readiness, product approvals, budget, tech. rollout & testing, market launch/ migration; ensuring a successful implementation of the new ecosystem and a smooth and timely migration of all clients.    

As countries complete the transition, the focus moves to the next phase of countries, following the planned Transformation Roadmap of countries/ payment types across the region.

An integral part of the Payments Transformation Senior Product Manager responsibility is to manage all risk aspects of the initiatives (regulatory, operational, compliance/ activity approvals, CAPs, etc.)

In summary, the Payments Transformation Senior Product Manager leads teams (Product, Ops., Tech., at multiple levels global/ cluster/ country) and owns all aspects of the Transformation initiative from initiation to effective commercialization/ migration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the transformation projects: requirements intake, business design global alignment, client experience, Ops. readiness, product approvals, budget, tech. rollout & testing, market launch/ migration; ensuring stakeholders (Product, Ops., Tech.)  alignment and execution, leading to a successful implementation of the new ecosystem and a smooth and timely migration of all clients.    

  • Lead the front-running/ multi-disciplinary (Product, Ops., Tech.) initial country assessments, identifying and documenting requirements and gaps. 

  • Responsible for providing leadership and direction to one or more scrum teams and will hold end-to-end responsibility for the product owned.

  • Own applicable signoff of project artifacts and requirements

  • Engage as needed and ensure commitment and alignment of key initiative stakeholders (Ops, Tech, Compliance, Sanctions, other Product areas, at local, regional, and global levels) to project governance, required participation and deliverables.  Escalate as needed. 

  • Ensure solution design aligns with strategic direction, including adherence to the Business Design Authority and PODs processes.  

  • Ensure solution alignment with global business objectives, scheme requirements, branch needs and client experience.

  • Own client migration strategy, planning & execution - including assessment of client demographics, impact on client experience and defining the optimal migration approach.

  • Structure and oversee the internal and external communications plans, aligning with Product Management, Sales and cluster/ local management.

  • Drive Product readiness activities with local Product, including business / Sales/ front office alignment and product documentation.  

  • Ensure all compliance needs are duly met (NAC, NPA, Sanctions, etc.)

  • Ensure Operations Readiness activities proper planning and execution.

  • Coordinate with global, regional, and local teams (Prod., Tech and Ops) the implementation and support activities.  Support and keep proactive engagement with global, regional, and country teams (Ops, Tech., Prod.) towards preparation of Business Cases, trainings, awareness sessions and other related project required activities.

Qualifications

Knowledge/ Experience:

  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience, including related fields.

  • Very good understanding of the payments business, products, technology, and markets

  • Track record leading governance and project execution across multiple teams, line of businesses and/ or geographies.  Preference for projects with high technological and operational components

  • Knowledge of payment operations (interaction with clearinghouses, channels, etc.)

  • Project Management experience

  • Proven track record of delivering results

  • Identification and management of risks

  • Consistent good performance track record

  • Experience on payments transactional products a plus

  • Product Management experience a plus

Skills:

  • Bilingual English and Spanish 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, at senior level and with internal and external stakeholders.   Very good presenter to senior and client audiences.  Comfortable escalating to seniors and across levels and areas

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint/presentation skills

  • Ability to navigate the bank organization across products and at local, regional, and global levels.  

  • Strong problem solving and interpretation skills

Education:

  • Bachelor degree required, MBA or equivalent a plus

Travel: Up to 20%

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$158,400.00 - $237,600.00
