Lead Big Data Developer

Job Description:
Citi is seeking a highly motivated candidate for a Lead BigData Developer position for the Client Financials Platform within Banking International and Client organization.  The successful candidates will be responsible for developing and supporting BigData solutions developed using various tools and technologies as part of financial applications.  Key responsibilities include interact with business partners to understand requirements, produce high quality technical & release documents, design & develop solutions for systems with large volumes using BigData, Hadoop, Hive, PySpark, Linux RHEL7, etc., provide technical walk-throughs to various stake holders (QA Team, UAT Team, etc.), communicate with internal stakeholders and work through data related inquiries and issues, and be able to work independently as well as within a team.  Additional qualities include strong communication and leadership skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities across geographies, and a passion for mentoring/developing team members.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field

Skills and Experience:
Strong programming skills in PySpark in a BigData environment. 
Familiarity with big data processing tools and techniques.
Experience with the Hadoop ecosystem including Hive, HDFS, Sqoop, Spark, Impala, Scala, etc.,
Well versed with shell scripting and Autosys scheduler.
Good understanding of distributed systems.
Should be familiar with data warehouse concepts.
Experience with streaming data platforms.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience with writing complex SQL queries.
Knowledge on data modeling and data design is essential.
Should be independent and resourceful dealing with risks/issues and resolving them in a timely manner.
Excellent communication and articulation skills.
