Front-End Architect Lead - NEW YORK, Hybrid
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Front-End Architect to lead the technical direction of our Market Data applications' user interfaces and user experiences. This role will be instrumental in defining and implementing front-end architecture strategies, establishing best practices, and mentoring development teams. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of modern web technologies, a proven track record of architecting complex front-end systems, and excellent leadership and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Define and implement the overall front-end architecture strategy for our Market Data applications.
- Establish and promote front-end development best practices, coding standards, and design patterns.
- Evaluate and select appropriate front-end technologies and frameworks.
- Design and implement reusable UI components and libraries.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure seamless integration of design and functionality.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to front-end development teams.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure the quality of front-end code.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in front-end development and architecture.
- Drive innovation and explore new approaches to improve user experience and development efficiency.
- Collaborate with backend architects and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of front-end and backend systems.
- Oversee the performance, scalability, and security of front-end applications.
Required Skills:
- 12+ years of experience in front-end development with at least 3 years in an architectural role.
- Deep understanding of modern JavaScript frameworks, preferably in React.
- Expertise in architecting complex front-end applications using component-based architectures, micro-frontends, or other relevant patterns.
- Strong understanding of web performance optimization techniques and accessibility standards.
- Experience with various state management solutions and data fetching strategies.
- Proficiency in designing and implementing reusable UI components and libraries.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and mentorship skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and cloud platforms (OpenShift/Cloud Foundry/AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with monorepo or multi-repo strategies for managing front-end codebases.
- Contributions to open-source projects or front-end communities.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred.
