Legal Project Manager - Technology Implementation- VP
We are looking for a strong project management professional to join the Legal Technology Execution team within Global Legal Solutions. This team is responsible for managing applications and use cases to support the broader Citi Legal group. In this team, you will work with various groups within Citi Legal and stakeholders of all levels to gather requirements, coordinate with technology partners to develop innovative solutions, drive and manage testing phases and rollouts. In addition to implementation, the Project Manager will also be responsible for coordinating enhancements and change management in relation to their applications on an ongoing basis, as well as liaising with the vendor on an ongoing basis. The team has a diverse portfolio of applications, some of which are exploring AI offerings. This role will provide the chance to manage multiple projects concurrently in an agile environment, along with coordinating all the processes involved in onboarding and managing applications within Citi’s procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for legal support activities related to legal operations, litigation/discovery/settlements or negotiation and contract administration
- Manages the execution, review, processing and tracking of legal documentation and records, executes transactions and completes varied work requests from multiple sources that may be complex in character and have tight deadlines
- Participates in legal programs and projects to achieve coordinated and efficient process improvements and legal support solutions; liaises with other control/functional businesses in support of initiatives
- Interacts with senior leaders, internal and external peers to gather information and works closely with the team’s management to determine legal solutions
- Continuously stays informed of regulatory changes, new regulations, internal policy changes and developments in the law
- Conducts independent research, investigations and analysis, applying institutional knowledge and knowledge of laws, rules and regulations, to support in the identification of legal solutions situations or to formulate an approach or strategy
- Applies in-depth understanding of how associated risks differ depending on product and documentation envisaged in relevant jurisdiction(s) and provides advice to the Risk function and business partners accordingly
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
- Help deliver innovative solutions through our portfolio of products that create process optimizations and risk mitigation; liaises with other control/functional businesses in support of initiatives.
- Create and maintain project planning documents, including risk logs and communication plans. Coordinating with technology partners to manage sprint planning and timelines with stakeholder expectations.
- Coordinate requirements gathering, bringing the appropriate teams together to discuss and refine.
- Partner with technology team and stakeholders to define project milestones and timelines, and track and monitor progress.
- Work with vendors and procurement teams to manage contracts, renewals and licensing (if applicable) for managed applications.
- Manage the application book of work, including change requests, use cases etc in collaboration with technology partners and report on this as required.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets.
Qualifications:
- 6-10 years of relevant industry experience, preferably with some experience working in an in-house legal role within financial services.
- Ability to manage complex documentation with organization and detail.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and project management skills, as well as the ability to interact and communicate effectively with Senior management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.
- In-depth knowledge of legal customs and practices.
- Knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry.
- Ability to effectively plan and monitor tasks and deliverables against a plan, escalating where needed.
- The capability to identify and analyze problems, proposing innovative solutions.

$103,920.00 - $155,880.00
