The Business Risk and Control Sr Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and workflow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within the Operations area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources.

Strong communication and risk management skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.

What you will be doing

  • Help coordinate governance and the facilitation of the execution of the Manager Control Assessment (GPMP creation, adoption and change management) as required by the MCA Standard including the assessment and appropriate approval of risk associated with business changes
  • Assist in contributing to the quality, completeness, and accuracy of the implementation of the Control Framework, including Risk Control Policy, Control Standard, Issue Management Policy, Lesson Learned Policy and Control Inventory
  • Influence decisions on the review and challenge process, within the FLUs, on the effective design and management of controls to mitigate risks as required by the Control Standards, including implementation and operation, conducting the control monitoring, handling deficiencies, and escalating issues for resolution
  • Perform analysis to support with the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of the MCA through controls prior to the execution of a process (QC)
  • Provide support to Process Owners to adhere to the Process Ownership standard and policy
  • Perform analysis on the risks associated with New Activities and changes to the Business, ensuring these are well understood and adequately controlled (if applicable)
  • Support to ensure risk and control responsibilities and accountabilities are embedded within FLUs, including contributing to training and leading by example

What we need from you

  • 5-8 years risk management experience
  • Experience with work-flow systems
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Outstanding relationship management skills
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on MS Excel
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented
  • Excellent problem-solving skills Ability to comprehend the big pictures with high attention to critical details
  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience
